One Monster Bike Ride III -Return To The Saddle

The infamous Stonedead Charity Bike Riders are hitting the road again for 2024.

Lead Cyclist Roger Sketcher said “The idea emerged from Stonedead’s original one day concept, and it’s a one day bike ride from Donington to our hallowed Stonedead site in Newark. The previous two rides have raised over £7,000 for the charities Mind and Andy’s Man’s Club. 

This year’s ride was inspired by Jules Batty Smith, and her chosen charity is Team Endeavour, who raise money and awareness for families of the Armed Forces who are suffering through illness, hardship and poverty.  

At the finish of last year’s ride the team had a real Steve Redgrave moment, “never again!” they said. The off-road route proved challenging with early morning dog walkers, getting lost and a puncture in the last mile. Jules saw the team at the finish, offered congrats, and said “same again next year, lads?!”… and the team thought they could hardly say no!
